We first learned of Pat Byrne through our buddy, Jaimee Harris, who was co-writing a song with Pat about 2-1/2 years ago. On our last trip to Austin a few months later, we made the time to catch one of Pat's musical projects, the Irish band Ulla, at the Saxon. We pretty much decided that day we'd find a way to host him at MCC.

Born in Ireland, Pat relocated to Austin in 2017 and has been playing around town and touring cross-country since.

Listening to Pat's 2018 release, Rituals, it occurred to us that Pat reminded us a bit of Bruce Springsteen with an Irish brogue. It was only while speaking with a friend when I learned that Pat had actually won the initial season of "The Voice: Ireland", singing a cover of Springsteen's The River. Small world.

We hated having to cancel Pat's show last fall, because we're pretty sure Pat is destined (soon) for bigger things. We feel very fortunate to have him on our 2022 calendar!
