You can read Shelley's bio here, and Carolyn's here, to learn more about their music, and you can check out the videos posted here for a small sample of what this night's likely to bring (HINT: the best blues show you're likely to ever witness this up-close and personal.)
Very briefly, Shelley is one of our favorite artists ever. Killer voice, and a great love of the blues that shows through in her songwriting. Oh, and folks like Delbert McClinton, and The Subdudes wrote and sang with her on her latest record, Kick up Your Heels (2021).
And Carolyn - well, she spent most of the last couple years playing lead guitar for 88-year old blues legend John Mayall 's tour (Eric Clapton had had that gig when he was younger). I've found myself describing Carolyn's musical style as "Stevie Ray & Janis Joplin's imaginary love child." Oh, and Carolyn was named Best Blues Artist and Best Guitarist at the 2022 Austin Music Awards.
Shelley and Carolyn are best buds, and have been touring together a bunch, so don't expect a quiet singer/songwriter song-swap. This power duo will light up our living room, and we're already pricing replacement windows.
