a little about andrea

Yes, Andrea is a fine, guitar-playing singer-songwriter who is based in Austin.  But after that, Andrea's concert will be a bit different.

Born in Belfast, Northern Ireland, Andrea has been playing music since she was seven years old. Her first instrument was not the guitar, but instead the bodhran (a traditional Irish hand-held drum). Guitar and flute came later, and all three are a part of Andrea's music today.

Andrea and Englishman Ben Jones formed Beat Root Revival around 2014. Soon after, they relocated together to Austin, broke up as a couple, and broke out as a musical act. Soon after, they jumped on a worldwide tour as the opening act for Brian Wilson (yeah, THAT Brian Wilson) and have been performing together and individually ever since.

Andrea is also a member of the Austin-based Irish band Ulla (with Pat Byrne), and last past summer launched her own music festival called She Rises. And, Andrea is a member of the all-female powerhouse band, PAACK. In her spare time, Andrea runs her own non-profit, Music Helps. So, yeah, Andrea is a one of a kind force of nature, and her concert will for sure reflect that.

Andrea has released two solo records, two with Beat Root Revival, and a live Ulla CD recorded at the iconic Saxon Pub.
