A BIT ABOUT GOLDPINE

One of the best parts of hosting these concerts is getting to discover new music right alongside our friends. Goldpine contacted us awhile back about playing a show here. We did a little listening to their music online, as we always do, and liked what we heard. (and, as an aside, we found a clip of them singing The Star Spangled Banner at a Kansas City Chiefs NFL game. Huh?) We went to see them at the Stoltz Listening Room in Easton about a year ago and offered them a show the next day.

Ben and Kassie Wilson are a husband-and-wife team out of Nashville, and they’ve been at this for a long time. They’ve been making music together for over a decade, spending the last few years touring hard in a van Ben built himself. You can hear that road-worn chemistry in the sound. They call it "aggressive Americana," which became my favorite musical phrase when they used it at the Stoltz. So buckle up, this is gonna be a fun night.

Goldpine just released their third album in July, accurately titled Three, and I’ve been listening to it a bunch. Lots of storytelling songs with creative musicianship and great harmonies.

We loved seeing them on stage in Easton, but I have a feeling they're going to be even better in this setting. You all know what it’s like hearing the stories behind the songs, and hearing the music in the intimacy of a house concert setting. If you want to see why we booked them on the spot, we’d love for you to join us. C’mon, you know you want to.
