before you reserve your seats ...
We're seeing a trend of "early reservations / late cancellations" with some folks reserving seats to a concert as soon as we start taking reservations, and often canceling their reservations close to the concert date, after we've announced the concert is full.
This makes it tough on us to fill the room for our artists, and that's the #1 thing our artists ask of us as hosts. So when we have 50 seats reserved and tell the artist (and our mail list) we're full and get 15-20 cancellations in the last week, we miss our commitment to our artists. And we get a whole pile of extra work that last week trying to fill the canceled seats.
So - please reserve seats (or yourselves or for friends) only when you're pretty sure that you will use those seats.
We're not asking for a guarantee, or pre-payment of your artist contribution, or 'requiring' contributions for seats you cancel ... just that you only reserve seats you're pretty sure you're going to use. And we've chosen the words "pretty sure" intentionally here -- if you reserve seats you're planning to use and you have to cancel, so be it. Life changes and stuff happens - we get that.
And - if you do have to cancel close to the concert date, and decide on your own to make your artist contribution anyway, we (and our artists) will say 'thank you'.
